Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Arts Council issued the following announcement on August 19.

Winston-Salem, NC (August 18, 2021) As local COVID cases reach the highest level since Winter 2021, Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County is taking precautionary steps to support the overall well-being of our arts and cultural sector.

Beginning on August 27 and until further notice, all patrons attending events on Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County’s campus must present 1) full proof of COVID-19 vaccination or 2) a negative PCR lab test result from 48 hours prior to the scheduled event you wish to attend. Arts Council campus venues include Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts’ Reynolds Place Theatre, Mountcastle Theatre, and galleries – as well as HanesBrands Theatre. Additionally, Arts Council is requiring all staff and volunteers, as well as performers and production team members to be fully vaccinated.

“We are committed to doing our part to protect our community from the further spread of COVID-19 and revitalizing our arts and cultural sector that has been greatly impacted from the last year and a half of this pandemic,” said Chase Law, President and CEO of Arts Council. “Our goal is to keep our venues open, our artists employed, and our community safe so that we can enjoy live performances together and continue forward with the reopening of the sector.”

As decreed from the City of Winston-Salem, a mask mandate for all indoor events will be reinstated on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 5:30pm. Presently, masks are required for entry to all Arts Council venues.

We strongly encourage local arts organizations to join Arts Council, The Ramkat and other venues to protect our community from the further spread of COVID-19.

Arts Council is the chief advocate of the arts and cultural sector in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Its goal is to serve as a leader in lifting up, creating awareness and providing support to grow and sustain artistic, cultural and creative offerings throughout our region. Arts Council is committed to serving as a facilitator, organizer, and promoter of conversations that are authentic, inclusive, and forward-thinking.
