A Winston-Salem company was one of 16 that received a grant from the NC IDEA Foundation.
Beam Dynamics will share the $160,000 grant with the 15 other recipients, receiving up to $10,000 for its startup, the foundation said in an October release.
Beam Dynamics, a production equipment management and manufacturer interaction platform, offers an all-in-one product that streamlines service tickets, inventory and other services, according to the company's website.
"Spanning cleantech to consumer products to medical devices and software, this group is a great representation of the diverse economic potential of the state," Thom Ruhe, president and CEO of NC IDEA, said in the release.
The NC IDEA micro grant program is in its second year and fifth grant cycle, the foundation said in the release. Since the program started in 2018, NC IDEA has awarded $770,000 to 77 startups.
"For many of these young companies, it is their first external validation that they are pursuing something that can become a great company, and it is very rewarding for us to help them on that journey," Ruhe said in the release.
