Winston-Salem-based advertising agency The Variable was listed as one of Fast Company’s 2020 Top 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators.

Created by Fast Company in collaboration with Accenture, this is the second year of the annual list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators which recognizes companies that encourage experimentation and innovation, enabling employees at all levels to develop inventive new ways of doing business, the Winston-Salem reported on July 30.

The Variable joins an exclusive group of the world’s most forward-thinking organizations, which include Google, Amazon, Alibaba, Etsy, Nestlé and others, the Winston-Salem reported. The company also becomes one of only two companies in the world to ever be named on the list and also named an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year (an honor it has achieved three times).

“The Variable combines the thinking of innovation consultancy with the doing of an advertising agency to drive real growth for businesses,” David Mullen, president and partner at The Variable, said, Winston-Salem reported. “Brilliant advertising and experiences are critical, but they have to follow meaningful innovation. The two are inseparable. To fight indifference, companies must have a people-friendly innovation worthy of advertising.”
