Sewer rehabilitation project causes street closures in Winston-Salem

Work on the System-wide Sewer Rehabilitation project in Winston-Salem is set to continue with street closures scheduled for weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting Monday, June 16. Virginia Road will be fully closed between Oaklawn Avenue and Stratford Road.

Additionally, one lane will be closed on several streets including Hawthorne Road between Cloverdale Avenue and First Street, Lakeview Boulevard between Overlook Drive and East Drive, Holland Street between Shuman Street and the dead-end, and Kippen Drive between Watkins Ford Road and Hawick Court.

The work is expected to conclude by Friday, June 20, weather permitting. The contractor handling the project will manage all traffic control measures. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and plan alternate routes.
