Novant Health has announced the appointment of Sarah Tuley as the new president of East Cooper Medical Center, effective from March 31, 2025. Tuley will bring significant leadership experience in financial operations and strategic growth to her role, furthering Novant Health’s dedication to patient care and community service.
Tuley has been serving as the interim chief executive officer of East Cooper Medical Center for the past five months. She initially joined Novant Health as the Charleston area chief financial officer in 2023, later advancing to the role of chief financial officer of the South Carolina Region. In her earlier position, Tuley managed all financial operations across the South Carolina region and contributed significantly to the integration of the hospital into the Novant Health system.
Sarah Tuley expressed her enthusiasm for her new position, saying, “I am honored and excited to take on this new role as president of East Cooper Medical Center.” She added that she is eager to continue the tradition of excellence at the hospital by working with its team to deliver compassionate care. Tuley emphasized the importance of innovating services to meet community needs while fostering a supportive environment.
Jason Bernd, Novant Health’s senior vice president and president of the South Carolina region, welcomed Tuley to her new role, stating, “Sarah is a proven leader with a strategic mindset and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. Her experience will be invaluable in guiding the hospital forward and strengthening its role in the community.”
In addition to her professional career, Tuley is known for her interests in travel, hiking, and singing. She has climbed several notable mountains, and she is a classically trained opera singer with performances alongside ensembles such as the London Symphony and Charleston Symphony. Tuley is also active in community service, supporting various humanitarian and health organizations.
As she steps into her leadership position, Tuley aims to advance East Cooper Medical Center’s dedication to providing patient-centered care tailored to the needs of the community.
