The City of Winston-Salem announced on May 7 that the Reynolda Road cardboard recycling site at 2417 Reynolda Road will be temporarily closed for asphalt resurfacing. The closure will begin on Friday, May 15, and the city expects to reopen the site on Monday, May 25.

During this period, residents are encouraged to use curbside recycling services or visit alternative drop-off locations. These include sites at 325 W. Hanes Mill Road, 4700 Country Club Road, 290 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, 651 N. Marshall Street, 771 Palmer Lane, and 2745 Waughtown Street in Winston-Salem.

Cardboard dropped off must be clean and flattened; pizza boxes, greasy cardboard, or packing materials are not accepted. All materials should be placed inside containers provided at each location. If a container is full at one location, residents are asked to try another.

The City of Winston-Salem serves as a municipal government overseeing local public services and infrastructure for its residents within its North Carolina boundaries; it operates under a City Council with eight members representing wards and a mayor elected citywide according to the official website.

“The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this temporary closure.” For more information about recycling services or questions about alternate drop-off sites during this period of maintenance work, residents may visit CityofWS.org/Recycling or contact City Link at 311 or by calling (336)‑727‑8000.
