Guilford College achieved a 7-3 victory against Carolina University on April 15, 2025, at Rich Park in Greensboro, N.C. The game began with Guilford College scoring three runs in the first inning. S. Dark’s single, E. George’s sacrifice bunt, and hits from R. Smith and C. Wade brought in the early runs. A subsequent single by C. McGuire gave Guilford College a 3-0 lead.

Carolina University responded in the second inning. Nick Franklin’s double drove home Antonio Biggers, reducing the deficit to 4-1. Guilford College, however, extended their lead in the third inning with C. Wade and C. McGuire’s key hits. S. Melton’s sacrifice fly raised the score to 5-1.

In the fifth inning, a Carolina University error allowed C. McGuire to score, making it 6-1. Carolina University attempted a comeback in the eighth inning with doubles from A. Noll and P. Tucker, and a hit by D. Gonzalez, closing the score to 6-3.

The ninth inning saw Guilford College seal their victory, as R. Rodrigues and A. Williams hit singles to bring C. McGuire home, finalizing the game’s score at 7-3.

Guilford College’s performance featured 13 hits. C. Wade and C. McGuire played pivotal roles with their hits and RBIs. Carolina University managed seven hits, with notable doubles from A. Noll, P. Tucker, and D. Gonzalez.

S. Barwick claimed the win for Guilford College, while M. Kelley took the loss for Carolina University. H. Sekanick secured the save.

Guilford College and Carolina University’s next games will take place during the CAC round-robin event hosted by Georgia Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Ga., from April 18-19, where they will face Spartanburg Methodist.
