On Friday, Feb. 28, former East Forsyth High School standout Bret Clements’ current college team, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, won 12-7 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Gardner–Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs.

The game took place at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Runnin’ Bulldogs this season.

The Mountaineers’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium against Gardner–Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs.
