City offices will close on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. This closure will impact garbage and recycling collection schedules.

Garbage routes will operate as usual from Tuesday to Thursday. However, collections typically scheduled for Friday will be postponed until Monday, July 7. Recycling routes will also maintain their regular schedule from Monday through Thursday, with Friday’s collection rescheduled for Saturday, July 5. Yard waste collection will not experience any changes.

All solid waste facilities, including Hanes Mill Road Solid Waste Facility, Old Salisbury Road Landfill, Forum 52 and Overdale Road yard waste facilities, and the 3RC EnviroStation, will be closed on Friday.

CityLink 311, the city’s customer service center, will not have staff available on the holiday. Non-911 emergency calls will be redirected to on-call team members within the relevant departments. Requests for routine information or services can still be submitted via email at CityLink@CityOfWS.org, through the city website CityofWS.org, using the CityLink 311 mobile application for processing the next day, or by texting (855) 481-5465.
