The Carolina University Women’s Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Chelsea Jones, played their final Tri-Match of the 2025 regular season on Saturday in Milligan, Tennessee. The Bruins faced Johnson University (TN) and Milligan University, but were unable to secure a win in either match as they continue preparations for postseason competition.
In the first match against Johnson University, Carolina lost in straight sets with scores of 25–11, 25–19, and 25–18. Britney Comolli led the team with eight kills. Kammi Naudé contributed five kills and three blocks. Setter Syvannah Poore had 11 assists and matched that number in digs. Melia Coleman posted a .250 hitting percentage with two kills, while Rachel Powell added three kills. On defense, the Bruins recorded a total of 42 digs; Poore and Charlee Hale stood out in this effort. Natalia Cano registered six assists and Emma-Grace Dubuc delivered a service ace.
In their second match against Milligan University, Carolina won the opening set 25–19 after achieving a .412 hitting percentage as a team. However, Milligan took control from the second set onward to win three consecutive sets (25–20, 25–21, 25–15). Karli Totel and Jordan Connolly each recorded nine kills for Carolina; Naudé and Comolli both added eight more. Melia Coleman hit .545 with seven kills and two block assists during one of her strongest offensive performances this season. Poore directed play with 21 assists while Cano contributed another 22 assists along with five service aces.
Defensively in this match, Charlee Hale collected 24 digs to anchor the back row. Rachel Powell had two blocks and six digs as Carolina finished with ten team blocks and totaled 76 digs—one of their most competitive defensive showings this year.
With these matches complete, Carolina will finish its regular season on the road: facing Paine College on Tuesday, November 4 at 6 p.m., followed by Guilford College on Friday, November 8 at 6 p.m.
Coach Jones reflected on her team’s progress: “We’ve continued to make strides in our consistency and communication,” said Coach Jones. “This group competes hard every night, and I’m proud of how we’ve fought through a tough stretch. We’re focused on finishing the regular season strong and carrying that energy into the postseason.”
