The Carolina University Women’s Basketball team is preparing to face West Virginia Tech on Saturday, December 13, at Williams Gymnasium. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.

Carolina University recently achieved its second win of the season with a 57–47 victory over Morris College. This win marked the team’s first conference victory and ended a period of challenging non-conference games. In that game, the Bruins held their opponent to under 50 points and demonstrated improvement in shooting and rebounding.

This upcoming contest will be the third meeting between Carolina and WVU Tech this season. The teams played twice in November, including a close 64–59 loss for Carolina in Beckley on November 14. These previous matchups provide both teams with familiarity as they prepare for Saturday’s game.

Head coach Hannah Latiolais commented on the team’s recent progress: “We’re starting to see our work translate on the court,” said Latiolais. “The confidence from that first conference win was important, but what matters most is how we respond. WVU Tech is a familiar opponent, and we know the level of focus and effort it’s going to take to put together a complete 40 minutes.”

Saturday’s matchup is Carolina’s last non-conference game before returning to conference play. The team aims to use this opportunity to continue building momentum and apply lessons learned earlier in the season.

Fans are invited to attend the game at Williams Gymnasium and support the Bruins.
