Carolina University’s men’s basketball team will return to their home court on Tuesday, November 25, hosting Montreat College at Williams Gymnasium. The Bruins, coached by Jacob Heck, enter the game with a 2–6 record following two close contests at the Bevo Francis Classic, including an overtime loss to WVU Tech.

Despite recent setbacks, Carolina has demonstrated strength in rebounding. The team averages 44.5 rebounds per game and holds a margin of 12.6 more boards than their opponents. Tristan Kuska and Zay Scott each contribute 6.5 rebounds per game, helping position the Bruins as one of the top rebounding teams in the region.

On offense, Shawn Woodson leads Carolina with 14.3 points per game on 46.9% shooting from the field. Kuska follows closely with 14 points per game while shooting at a rate of 62.9%. Deuce Ford recently returned to action and is averaging 11.8 points per contest, adding perimeter scoring for the Bruins.

Carolina’s offense produces an average of 80.6 points per game, which slightly surpasses Montreat’s defensive average of allowing 78.9 points.

Montreat College arrives in Winston-Salem holding a 3–4 record after playing several competitive games early this season. The Cavaliers’ offense features strong balance with three players scoring in double figures; RJ Manginello leads them with an average of 18.4 points per game and shoots 90% from the free-throw line. Montreat also averages nine made three-pointers per game and scores just under 80 points on average.

The Cavaliers recently lost at home to Pikeville but have secured wins on the road such as an 83–78 victory against CIU. Their perimeter shooting sits at 32.5%, and they force nearly eight steals each game through aggressive defense.

Looking ahead to Tuesday’s matchup, Carolina aims to regain momentum by focusing on rebounding, reducing turnovers—currently averaging 18.5 per game—and capitalizing on efficient scoring opportunities both in transition and half-court sets.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., where Carolina University seeks to defend its home floor as it works toward building consistency during the remainder of the season.
