Carolina University hosts CAC Classic volleyball tournament beginning Thursday

The Carolina University Women’s Volleyball team will host the annual CAC Classic, a three-day intercollegiate volleyball tournament starting Thursday, October 9. The event will take place at Williams Gymnasium on the Carolina University campus in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

On the opening day, Carolina University (13–7) is scheduled to play Haskell Indian Nations University (6–21) at 3:00 PM. Later matches include Florida College (9–14) against Fisher College (12–4) at 5:00 PM. The Bruins will return for the final match of the day against Fisher College at 7:00 PM.

Head Coach Chelsea Jones commented on hosting the event: “The CAC Classic is always one of the highlights of our season,” said Coach Jones. “It gives our team a chance to measure ourselves against strong competition, and it’s special to do that here in front of our home fans. We’re excited to welcome these programs to Winston-Salem and proud to represent Carolina University on our home court.”

The Bruins hold a 13–7 record entering the weekend as they prepare for upcoming conference play. The CAC Classic is viewed by team leadership as an opportunity for valuable match experience ahead of an important part of their season.

Carolina University emphasized its commitment to bringing together student-athletes who demonstrate values such as integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership during this event.

Matches will continue through Saturday with multiple games each day. Fans are encouraged by organizers to attend and support the Bruins throughout the tournament.

All matches are set for Williams Gymnasium at Carolina University in Winston-Salem.
