Carolina University’s baseball team began its weekend series with a decisive win over the Mid-Atlantic Christian Mustangs in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The Bruins secured a 27–1 victory on Friday night, setting the tone for the rest of the series.
The Bruins scored four runs in the first inning and continued to add to their lead throughout the game. Their offensive output included 27 runs on 15 hits, with several players contributing home runs. A significant moment came in the fifth inning when Carolina posted ten runs, putting the game out of reach for the Mustangs.
Pitcher Jasean Brown led on the mound, throwing five shutout innings and recording seven strikeouts. The bullpen provided additional support to close out the win.
Associate Head Coach Logan Conklin said: “We came out with great energy tonight and executed in all phases of the game. Our approach at the plate was disciplined, and we did a great job applying pressure inning after inning. It’s always good to start a series strong on the road, but our focus now shifts to staying consistent and finishing the weekend the right way.”
The Bruins will play a doubleheader against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Saturday as they conclude their weekend series.
